IN collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), craft distillery Warner Edwards has launched a Limited Edition Honeybee Gin (left), which has been named as Fortnum & Mason’s Spirit of the Month for October. In the village of Harrington, Northamptonshire, part of the Warner family’s Falls Farm was once the park and gardens of a medieval manor house and the water used in the distillation of the gin is from a natural spring on the land. Balancing 28 zesty botanicals from the Falls Farm garden and an infusion of honey, each bottle is sold with a packet of bee-friendly wildflower seeds and a portion of the proceeds go the RHS. The launch has also inspired Warner Edwards to develop its own bee population, honey from which will be used in future batches of the Honeybee Gin. ‘What a knockout flavour!’ says founder Tom Warner. ‘We’re thrilled to do our bit in raising awareness of the plight of the honeybee and encouraging the planting of wildflowers.’ £40 per 70cl bottle; available at www.warneredwards.com or in Fortnum & Mason (www.fortnumandmason.com)
