Let the music play

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

OH deary me, someone doesn’t sound as if he gets out much— at least not in a vehicle (Letters, October 18). The letter about the dangers of driving with music on reminded me of a verse I heard many years ago, which went thus:

There once was a cautious man who never kissed a maid/he never sang, he never danced, he never laughed or played/then came the day he passed away, his insurance was denied/for the company said as he’d never lived, he never could have died. Robin Campbell, North Yorkshire
