SIBYLLE’S TIPS FOR SPRING SUCCESS

-

Combine plants that enhance one another but don’t juxtapose them – leave space and the eye will join them together across the garden

Make use of the back of the borders where early flowers can be seen while other plants are still low

Choose striking foliage plants at the front of borders

Knit the garden together with clump-forming ground-cover plants that still have presence after they have flowered

Repeat plants in several places to unify the garden and prevent it looking spotty

When allium leaves look a bit shabby, they can be removed without detriment to the bulb (narcissus and tulip leaves must be left on)
