The long-term im­pact of plastic waste on our en­vi­ron­ment is well doc­u­mented – it is clog­ging our oceans and ru­ral habi­tats, mak­ing it dif­fi­cult for wildlife to sur­vive. ‘Mi­cro plas­tics’ – tiny par­ti­cles from bro­ken-down plastic waste – are be­ing in­gested by seal­ife and, as a re­sult, be­ing ab­sorbed into the food chain.
