Book­ings are now be­ing taken for the 2017 Sheep Breed­ers’ Round Ta­ble. This bi-an­nual con­fer­ence, held over three days in Novem­ber at an ho­tel in Not­ting­ham, is a fan­tas­ti­cally in­spi­ra­tional gath­er­ing of all the great and the good of the sheep in­dus­try, with del­e­ga­tions from over­seas as well. Sev­eral hun­dred farm­ers, shep­herds, small­hold­ers, sci­en­tists, stu­dents, spe­cial­ist sheep vets, nutri­tion­ists, ge­neti­cists, con­sul­tants, levy body rep­re­sen­ta­tives and agri­cul­tural jour­nal­ists con­verge on Not­ting­ham with just one thing in mind: Sheep! Good food, good com­pany and an ab­so­lutely packed sched­ule of lec­tures and sem­i­nars make this one of the most sig­nif­i­cant events in the UK – if not the world – for all ovine en­thu­si­asts.
