David’s pig in a day butch­ery cour­ses are run through­out the year at Em­pire Farm in Som­er­set. The next date in 2018 is Sun­day May 20. The course costs £260 per butch­ery place (in­clud­ing the de­li­cious half a pig’s worth of meat you’ll be tak­ing home) and £50 for each ob­server place. Place num­bers are kept very small so ad­vance book­ing is rec­om­mended on this very pop­u­lar day. The ex­cel­lent team at Em­pire farm are also of­fer­ing CS mag­a­zine read­ers a 10% dis­count af­ter the event if they bring along a print copy of this ar­ti­cle to qual­ify.
