Direct heat damages leather and suede, so never leave boots exposed to a fire or radiator. It’s best to let the insides dry naturally, though a bit of help from scrunched up old newspaper or moisture-absorbing silica bags (of the ‘do not eat’ variety found in packaging) never hurts. If you’re feeling impatient, a hairdryer on a low heat setting lets you rapidly dry just the insides; but be warned, it whiffs a bit.
