Speckled Wood

Males will often be seen basking in sunny woodland spots and then spiralling up into the canopy to chase off rivals. They are one of the few species that seem to be coping with changes in British woodland.

Habitat: Partial shaded woodland with dappled sunlight.

Adults: March to October.
