Nicola Bates,

Managing Director Miles walked this month: 94

-

So the harvest is in full swing in the Shire at the moment, and a hive of activity on our walks with dusty skies, giant combines and an everchanging landscape as the month rolls on. The fields once bountiful with crops have now flattened, with hares, rabbits, pheasant and deer on full display. This is much to the enjoyment of my Jack Russell puppy Ruby, and Labrador Lola as far too great a temptation for chasing! With the weather again being warmer now, our walks tend to involve a wonder to the Willow Brook ford for the dogs to paddle, swim and cool down – and for me to wade and inevitably get far wetter than intended when the dogs try to use me as a towel! Note to self: This won’t be nearly as pleasant in autumn. Relish it now – and remember to bring a towel.
