Chris Stan­ley, 51, Wed­nes­bury I changed my job to a more phys­i­cal one to help over­come de­pres­sion and so­cial anx­i­ety – now I’m a postie! I love my daily walks at work and love my week­ends and hol­i­days in the hills. I feel won­der­ful and mo­ti­vated and in eight months I’ve lost two stone and four inches around my waist. It’s so in­spir­ing to be part of the #walk1000miles Face­book group and see so many peo­ple achiev­ing so much de­spite their in­di­vid­ual sit­u­a­tions. Even a few ex­tra steps a day is a vic­tory over those who don’t walk at all. The first steps out of the door are re­ally hard but the ben­e­fits to your mind and body are re­ally worth the chal­lenge!
