Most rucksacks have either a padded or channelled back system, which sits close to your back but vents air through little corridors; or a suspended system which pushes the load away from your back and allows air to circulate freely, thus reducing the build-up of sweat. The only drawbacks with the latter are that it can change your centre of gravity and squish the storage space in the rucksack.
