Country Walking Magazine (UK)

Seven-year itch scratched

-

Your coast articles in the July magazine really resonated with me this time as, after seven years, I finally completed the South West Coast Path. I began it in June 2011 and, apart from one year when I didn’t manage any walking on it, have done 1-2 weeks a year finally finishing on 25th June 2018. My brother who has helped me with logistics at difficult times of no buses or no ferries (he lives in Devon) and my daughter who popped over from France for the final day (!) were with me to celebrate the last day’s walking from Swanage to South Haven Point. The question is, what next? Do I carry on round the coast, which is the great temptation (its always been my dream to walk the whole coast of Britain), or do I have a change of scenery and do one of the other national trails that I haven’t yet tried – my brother suggests the Thames Path as it is flat! Maybe both ideas... Anyway here are two photos – myself and my daughter Ellie; also Dave presenting me with my Completer’s Certificate (from S.W.C.P.A.). Lorrie Forman, Melton Mowbray PS – I love the magazine.
