PÁRAMO Atca

-

RRP £65 Target price £55 The Atcas (men’s Maui) feel like they’ll last a lifetime. The cotton and polyamide blended fabric has an instant feel of quality about it, and there’s something reassuring about stepping into them. You know what you’re getting, and it’s quality. They’re not water repellent, but they do offer a good buffer against wind and plenty of stretch over rocky terrain. The tailored fit is pleasingly smart and flattering, and for the most part they offer good freedom of movement, though they can feel a bit tight around the hip and seat. But their real selling point is features. It starts with the pockets, of which there are plenty. The creative array of stowing options includes standard ‘jean’ pockets at the hip, with a secret zip inside the righthand side for coins or keys, a Velcro cargo pocket on the left thigh, and a zipped pocket on the right thigh, which could also double as a vent, though it isn’t marketed as such. Another way to circulate some air into the Atcas is by rolling up the trouser legs and buttoning them up into capri crops – a useful option given that the material can feel quite thick and heavy in summer.
