WALK AN AVERAGE of 2.74 miles a day in the next 12 months and you’ll hit 1000 miles and gain membership of an exclusive club. To walk that far in one year is extraordin­ary. And yet there are two even more extraordin­ary things about it than you think. One is that you’ll walk that incredible distance without taking time off work or neglecting your family or friends; and as we now know for sure, you can do it even in the middle of a pandemic which sees you confined to your house for 23 hours out of 24 for months. The second extraordin­ary thing is just how much of a difference your comparativ­ely modest investment of time can make to your life – just a bit under an hour, and it doesn’t even have to be all at once.
