Far-flung outposts

-

I’m reading Dan Richards’ book Outpost, an account of journeys to small, strange buildings in remote places. It got me wondering what my own outposts were. First up, Refuge Cristos Kakkalos on Mount Olympus in Greece. Here I endured the weirdest late night bathroom break of my life: climbing over eight sleeping people sharing my shelf, down a ladder, outside, and 200 yards in pitch darkness to an unlit loo.

Home of the Gods?

Maybe. But Zeus needs to get a plumber in.
