LUNE AQUEDUCT LANCASHIRE

John Rennie’s classical design gives this aqueduct an ancient Roman grandeur, despite being built in 1797. Volcanic pozzolana powder was used to prevent leaks in the stone bed as five stone arches carry the Lancaster canal across the River Lune.
