RACING THE TIDE
Craig Easton, photographer What I love about working for BBC Countryfile Magazine is meeting really interesting people in really interesting locations. My two loves are documentary landscape and portrait photography, and the magazine’s commissions often combine both. I really enjoyed the day I spent with artist Sarah Adams in Padstow and a midge-infested trip along the Tay with Dixe Wills (both Nature Special 2016, issue 117). It’s almost impossible to pick one picture, but I still like the unbridled joy of the two girls on a late summer’s evening racing the incoming tide as it rushes in to cut off Burgh Island in Devon (October 2016, issue 116).
