SENTENCING of Royal Marine Alexander Blackman, who fatally shot an injured Taliban fighter in Afghanistan. Five judges at the Court Martial Appeal Court will decide on the term to be served by Blackman after they overturned his murder conviction and replaced it with a verdict of diminished responsibility manslaughter.

MARCH to demand Britain remains in the European Union. Organised by Unite for Europe. Marches begin Park Lane and Trafalgar Square at 1100, rally in Parliament Square from 1300. Speakers include Tim Farron, Nick Clegg, David Lammy, Green co-leader Jonathan Bartley, Patrick Stewart.

MARCH for Europe. Campaigners against Brexit will take part in a march organised by the Young European Movement Edinburgh. It will conclude outside the Scottish Parliament with speeches from politicians.
