Coventry Telegraph - - FAMILY TIME -

GET ready for Minionmania to take hold again. The cute little yellow fellows are back on the big screen from June 30, in Despicable Me 3. Their master Gru, who’s now an agent for the Anti-Villain League (AVL), manages to foil the theft of the world’s most expensive diamond by Balthazar Bratt – a former child actor who portrayed a young super-villain in a popular television series and who now wants to be one for real.

Fired for failure, Gru and wife Lucy are relieved of duty by new AVL director Valerie Da Vinci, plunging Gru into an identity crisis.

A mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru he has a long-lost twin brother – and the former super-villain rediscovers just how good it feels to be bad. The film looks set to be as hilarious as the first two outings, filled with a host of famous voices. Steve Carell returns as Gru (and also voices his twin Dru), Ghostbusters star Kristen Wiig brings to life Gru’s wife Lucy, while Julie Andrews is Gru’s mum. Alan Partridge star Steve Coogan is AVL boss Silas and comedian and actor Russell Brand plays Dr Nefario, thr master gadgeteer. South Park co-creator Trey Parker is the voice behind Balthazar Bratt. The first two Despicable Me movies grossed around $1.4 billion worldwide and spawned a host of Minions merchandise.
