French tests are up first
COVENTRY City will play French opponents in the first of two pre-season tour games at the Pinatar Arena in Spain.
The Sky Blues will face Ligue 2 outfit Valenciennes, who finished 14th in the second tier of French football last season, on Tuesday, July 11, with a 7pm kick off.
Mark Robins’s side return to the Arena – a purpose-built football centre – three days later on Friday, July 14 against opposition yet to be confirmed.
City will fly out to the Alicante region on Sunday, July 9, following the opening pre-season friendly at Sutton United, and return to the UK on Saturday, July 15.
Manager Mark Robins said: “It’s really important that we get everybody together in a different environment to prepare intensely for the season ahead.
“It will be very competitive and a vital part of our preparation.”
