24-hour gym set to open
FITNESS fanatics will soon be able to access Nuneaton’s first 24-hour gym based within a former sports store.
Pure Gym bosses have revealed that they will be opening their first Nuneaton gym, based within the Ropewalk Shopping Centre, on Thursday, October 19.
But the official launch will be held on Thursday, November 2 with a 24 hour Pure Gym charity challenge, in aid of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, and residents are being invited to join in.
The aim of the challenge is to collectively run, cycle and row 638 miles; which is the distance it takes to reach Nuneaton’s twin town of Roanne in France.
Liberty Selvester Webb, manager of Pure Gym Nuneaton said: “We cannot wait to get the party started at the official opening of Nuneaton PureGym on November 2.
“The inspiring work of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice will encourage us to pedal faster and get our sweat on, as the money we raise is for such a wonderful cause. Myself and the team of personal trainers will be on hand to cheerlead the community on.
“We’re hoping that everyone from the local rugby team to the fire service and shop workers in the centre will sign up.”
Nuneaton and Bedworth’s Mayor , councillor Bill Hancox and his wife, the mayoress, Sheila will also be on hand at the official 24 hour launch party, which will also include several undisclosed local sporting stars and personalities.
It was back in April last year when the News first revealed that the former JJB sports store would be transformed into a Pure Gym.
The gym will breathe life back into unit 26 which has stood empty for several years after JJB shut in 2013. Those who would like to join in the charity challenge, which starts at 12noon on November 2, should log on to https://www.puregym.com/nuneatonchallenge
