Nothing says summer like a simple white dress. EMMA JOHNSON picks out the best buys

Coventry Telegraph - - FASHION FOCUS -

THE STARS were shining as they turned out in force for the 72nd annual Tony Awards in New York.

Kerry Washington and Tina Fey led the red carpet glamour in shimmering silver outfits at Broadway’s biggest night of the year at the Radio City Music Hall.

Scandal star Kerry, 41, looked out of this world in a futuristic silver embellished jumpsuit by Versace. It had a small train and was cut out at the back. She wisely kept her make-up simple and her hair long and sleek.

The actress, who is set to return to Broadway in upcoming production American Son which examines race relations in America, said about her outfit: “I figured that I wanted to sparkle a little.”

And she wasn’t the only one. Comedy star Tina Fey cut a stylish figure in custom Thom Browne. Her glamorous full-length gown was feathered at the bottom and she accessorised with Cartier jewellery.

Also keeping with the metallic theme, was Homeland star Claire Danes.

The 39-yearold, who is pregnant with her second child to husband Brit actor Hugh Dancy, opted for a gold animal print gown by Valentino. She looked just purr-fect.
