Round 8: Round 9: Round 10: end. 36sts. Fas­ten off leav­ing a long yarn tail. Fit cro­cheted clock face over the 8cm (3¼in) di­am­e­ter card­board clock face. Use the yarn tail to gather up the stitches from round 10, pulling to tighten as you go. Fas­ten off. Weave in the yarn end.

Join dark green yarn in any left­over front loop from round 9, sin­gle cro­chet in each left­over loop to end, join with a sl st to first st. Fas­ten off leav­ing a long yarn tail for sewing. Sew edge of Clock Face to Clock Back di­rectly over the square hole. Glue on red but­tons at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. If us­ing brads, pierce holes in the clock face with a draw­ing pin at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 o'clock. Ap­ply a small spot of glue over each hole and push the brad in. Al­ter­na­tively, you could sim­ply glue on smaller but­tons, beads or se­quins.

Roof

Make two in red yarn. Make 12ch.

2dc in sec­ond ch from hook, dc in next 9sts down first side of ch, 2dc in last ch, dc in next 9sts up sec­ond side of ch. 22sts.

BLO, dc in each st to the end. Fas­ten off, leav­ing a long yarn tail on one of the pieces. Score the mount board roof down the cen­tre so that it will bend eas­ily and neatly. Insert one side of the roof into the first piece of cro­chet and insert the sec­ond side into the sec­ond piece of cro­chet. Sew both pieces to­gether in the mid­dle. Glue the roof to the top of the clock back in the mid­dle of the strip, so you have the same amount of over­hang at the front and back.

Top shelf

Make one in red yarn. Make 6ch.

2dc in sec­ond ch from hook, dc in next 3sts down first side of ch, 2dc in last ch, dc in next 3sts up sec­ond side of ch. 10sts.

BLO, dc in each st to the end. Fit over the card­board top shelf and sew the end closed. Weave in the yarn tail. Ap­ply glue to the back edge and ends of the shelf and fix in place Make one in light green yarn. Make 33ch.

Start­ing in sec­ond ch from hook dc in each st to the end. Fas­ten off. Weave in yarn ends. Glue to the base of the clock front.

Win­dows

Make two in black yarn. Make 6ch. Rows 1-4: dc in each st to the end, turn. 5sts. Change to white yarn.

dc in each st and row end around. Fas­ten off. Sew a long ver­ti­cal and a long hor­i­zon­tal stitch to the front of the win­dow di­vid­ing it into four win­dow panes. Glue to the front of the clock, ei­ther side of the clock face.

Cuckoo Head and body

Make one in Blue yarn. Start with 6dc into magic ring. 6sts. 2dc in each st to the end. 12sts. dc in each st to the end. (dc2­tog) re­peat to end. 6sts.
