Round 8: Round 9: Round 10: end. 36sts. Fasten off leaving a long yarn tail. Fit crocheted clock face over the 8cm (3¼in) diameter cardboard clock face. Use the yarn tail to gather up the stitches from round 10, pulling to tighten as you go. Fasten off. Weave in the yarn end.
Join dark green yarn in any leftover front loop from round 9, single crochet in each leftover loop to end, join with a sl st to first st. Fasten off leaving a long yarn tail for sewing. Sew edge of Clock Face to Clock Back directly over the square hole. Glue on red buttons at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. If using brads, pierce holes in the clock face with a drawing pin at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 o'clock. Apply a small spot of glue over each hole and push the brad in. Alternatively, you could simply glue on smaller buttons, beads or sequins.
Make two in red yarn. Make 12ch.
2dc in second ch from hook, dc in next 9sts down first side of ch, 2dc in last ch, dc in next 9sts up second side of ch. 22sts.
BLO, dc in each st to the end. Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail on one of the pieces. Score the mount board roof down the centre so that it will bend easily and neatly. Insert one side of the roof into the first piece of crochet and insert the second side into the second piece of crochet. Sew both pieces together in the middle. Glue the roof to the top of the clock back in the middle of the strip, so you have the same amount of overhang at the front and back.
Make one in red yarn. Make 6ch.
2dc in second ch from hook, dc in next 3sts down first side of ch, 2dc in last ch, dc in next 3sts up second side of ch. 10sts.
BLO, dc in each st to the end. Fit over the cardboard top shelf and sew the end closed. Weave in the yarn tail. Apply glue to the back edge and ends of the shelf and fix in place Make one in light green yarn. Make 33ch.
Starting in second ch from hook dc in each st to the end. Fasten off. Weave in yarn ends. Glue to the base of the clock front.
Make two in black yarn. Make 6ch. Rows 1-4: dc in each st to the end, turn. 5sts. Change to white yarn.
dc in each st and row end around. Fasten off. Sew a long vertical and a long horizontal stitch to the front of the window dividing it into four window panes. Glue to the front of the clock, either side of the clock face.
Cuckoo Head and body
Make one in Blue yarn. Start with 6dc into magic ring. 6sts. 2dc in each st to the end. 12sts. dc in each st to the end. (dc2tog) repeat to end. 6sts.
