Craftseller - - Q&a - MELANIE NIGHTINGALE, BRISTOL

I sold off my old makes because I’m taking my work in a different direction, but was shocked to see someone else selling it on as their own designs. Are they allowed to do this? DAVID SAYS: Things to consider include if it was just the physical objects that were sold or if there was any transfer of intellectual property. Are the works your original pieces or copies? Depending on when the works were first made, unregistered design rights might still exist, or they may be protected by copyright if you’re identified as the author. If your work is moving in a new direction, you may want to consider if it’s worth the time and money needed to pursue this.
