Ar­duino and SiFive launch Ar­duino Cinque


SiFive has an­nounced a part­ner­ship with Ar­duino to launch the Ar­duino Cinque, an of­fi­cial open hard­ware board based around its RISC V-based Free­dom E310 mi­cro­con­troller. Based heav­ily on the SiFive HiFive1 board (re­viewed in Is­sue 164), the Ar­duino Cinque fea­tures a Free­dom E310 run­ning at 320MHz, an Es­pres­sif ESP32 for Blue­tooth and Wi-Fi sup­port. It also has the fa­mil­iar Ar­duino Uno lay­out, plus the guar­an­tee of na­tive com­pat­i­bil­ity with the Ar­duino In­te­grated De­vel­op­ment En­vi­ron­ment (IDE). Pric­ing and avail­abil­ity have yet to be con­firmed.
