Slow down

Cycling Weekly - - Letters -

Even after 52 years in the saddle, I still abhor the loss of momentum brought about by things such as wayward children, loose dogs. Like many, I have been willing to take risks to preserve speed. Is it really worth it though? Does that super-swift commute or quality training session in any way justify risk to life and limb. The answer has to be no and after all, the extra effort involved in working back up to speed is a contribution to the bank of fitness. All I have to do now is practise what I preach.
