I did a steady hour to start off with, just to get the legs tick­ing over, then at­tacked some climbs near Mat­lock, each one be­tween two and four min­utes. The course for the Na­tional Hill-climb Champs is around four min­utes long, so I try to find hills lo­cal to me that are sim­i­lar in gra­di­ent and dis­tance. This ses­sion didn’t go as well as Tues­day’s, as I couldn’t get my heart rate up to where I wanted it. For the rest of the day, I tried to keep off my feet to get as much re­cov­ery for the week­end as pos­si­ble.
