Driver fined £350 for hit­ting cy­clist

A driver who pleaded guilty to driv­ing without due care and at­ten­tion af­ter he hit a sta­tion­ary cy­clist putting him in in­ten­sive care, has been fined £350. De­liv­ery driver Mark Bet­tridge failed to see cy­clist Adam Fran­d­ley who was wait­ing to turn right at a junc­tion. The district judge rul­ing on the case fined Bet­tridge and handed him three points on his li­cence, putting the in­ci­dent down to noth­ing more than a “mo­men­tary lapse of con­cen­tra­tion”.
