Alejandro Valverde’s Movistar Canyon Ultimate CF SLX
There’s no change to the Ultimate CF SLX for Movistar except to its paint. The Spanish team sports a lighter blue fading into dark blue for 2018 and the green that was paired with the midnight blue has disappeared altogether.
While the other Canyon sponsored team, Katusha, are the only team using SRAM groupsets, Movistar’s bikes are equipped with Campagnolo components. The legendary Italian brand supplies its flagship Super Record EPS groupset and also provides the wheels, with the logos matched to the new Movistar signature blue. Continental is another of Movistar’s sponsors and supplies its Competition tubulars, long-time pro favourites.
Power2max power meters replace the Campagnolo spider.
British rider Alex Dowsett has
left Movistar for Katusha this year but still gets to race on this bike, plus the Aeroad CF and the TT. Team leader Alejandro Valverde returned to racing in Majorca for the first time since his crash in the 2017 Tour stage one time trial.
