Derby Mercury RC

Cycling Weekly - - RIDE WITH -

1 Blackbrook The road is arrow-straight for the first mile, high walls and hedges shielding the view before opening out on the stunning Derbyshire countryside and marking the start of the ride’s hillier section.

Carsington Water Our cafe stop for the day is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts with numerous sailing and water-based activities available plus walking and cycling routes (on and off-road).

Derby Velodrome

Track cycling is enjoying a resurgence; with recent GB successes and with Derby now having its own indoor track there is a first-class Midlands-based location to give it a try.

Favourite cafe Carsington Water

Carsington Water, nestled at the foot of the Peak District, has two cafes on site and offers a full menu of hot and cold food with an impressive array of cakes, good coffee and even a small bar. The outdoor balcony is the preferred seating of choice, but today the weather keeps us in the ample indoor area with more than enough tables for us and other visitors.
