What’s the best bit of cycling kit you bought this year?

■ Got myself a Wilier Montegrappa alloy frame and a few components to add to the spares that I already have, and built myself a new bike. Rides like a dream. And I enjoyed the project immensely. Douglas Morley

■ Thermoascent jacket. Ridiculously good value for the price. Got plenty of use before the good weather and now the sun has gone for a bit (typical Scotland) it’s been back out. Ian Cruise
