■ Got myself a Wilier Montegrappa alloy frame and a few components to add to the spares that I already have, and built myself a new bike. Rides like a dream. And I enjoyed the project immensely. Douglas Morley

■ Thermoascent jacket. Ridiculously good value for the price. Got plenty of use before the good weather and now the sun has gone for a bit (typical Scotland) it’s been back out. Ian Cruise

■ Dura-ace C24 wheel upgrade in a sale. Love them! Roy Kwei

■ I started using Revolubes in January. It took a while to get used to not having a chain and bike covered in gunk but it’s amazing stuff and I’ve recommended it to everyone I cycle with. Jane Hellier

■ I was given a pair of Terry bike shorts as a gift at Christmas. The best thing is that, unlike other brands, when they say they design for plus-sized women, they actually do. Jan Darnell

■ Castelli mesh base layers. How do they work so well? Alan Ferriday

■ Either Wahoo Kickr Indoor Bike – top spec and great performance – or Castelli Gabba – perfect jersey for Scottish summer. Walter Scott

■ Bought some Giordana knee and arm-warmers for next to nothing off a discount site. And they’re amazing – makes a massive difference to knee comfort especially. Can’t believe I’d never used any before. Far and away the best value bits of kit I have ever bought. Chris Bates

■ My Delonghi coffee machine. Clive Hadland

NEXT WEEK’S BIG QUESTION…

Are Team Ineos right to let Chris Froome go?
