THE BIKES
Cervélo has taken over from Trek as MTN’S bike supplier for 2015
‘Cervélo was going to go with the Alonso team,’ says team principal Doug Ryder. ‘It would have been the perfect brand for what Alonso wanted to do in cycling. From a mechanical-support side, Alonso wanted bike companies to own the trucks and the mechanics, so Cervélo mechanics would work on the bike rather than external mechanics. It was all about integration. Thankfully for us it didn’t work out!’ Pictured: Cervélo S5 with Shimano Dura-ace Di2, Rotor chainset, Enve 3.4 wheels and 3T finishing kit.
