Assos SS Laalalai evo women’s jersey

£130, as

Cyclist - - New Gear -

If there’s one way in which Assos stands apart from the pack, it’s with the Swiss brand’s curious naming conventions. The harmonically named Laalalai is its women’s range, which has been a big focus for the last few years following a decade of backlash against the provocative poses of ‘Assos girl’. Those days are gone, and the SS Laalalai evo jersey has some well thought-out features, despite its slightly authoritarian prefix.

A cooling knit pattern on the back of the jersey does a great deal for helping to regulate body heat, while a women-specific cut and carefully tapered sleeve and collar make the jersey functional, aerodynamic and visually flattering in equal measure. The rear pockets boast Triple Ramp technology, meaning there’s ample room to stuff in essentials without them falling out or ruining the fit of the jersey. At £130, having deep pockets seems all too appropriate.
