How we did it

Cyclist - - The Big Ride France -

Cyclist flew to Geneva airport, home of some exceedingly expensive food (it is Switzerland and it is an airport), but at least cheap to get to, with prices from around £60 from major UK airports, and within a 90-minute drive of Albertville.

We stayed at the Hotel Alpen Roc (rooms from around £90pn), courtesy of British tour operator Peak Retreats, which specialises in French cycling holidays, guided rides and very knowledgeable advice. See peakre for more details.

We are once again indebted to Céline Guillermin and Nadine Carle-edgar from the Savoie Mont Blanc tourist board, who put together this trip and ensured every little detail ran smoothly, on top of driving our support car and paying €915 for our coffee. Céline says she eventually got €905.85 back.
