MORE than 300 jobs will be on offer from 35 companies at the latest RCT jobs fair.

The event, which will take place at Sobell Leisure Centre in Aberdare, will see a host of employers from around the UK looking to recruit the hottest talent.

They will offer hundreds of apprenticeships, graduate schemes and other vacancies, both within the private and public sector, including Tesco, EE and the Armed Forces. It follows the last jobseekers’ event in Pontypridd, which saw more than 1,200 people attend.

Councillor Maureen Webber, deputy leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf council and cabinet member for council business, said: “I’m delighted to announce that the council will be holding another of our hugely popular jobs fairs in September.

“The event provides an opportunity for those looking for employment to get valuable information and guidance on taking the next step in their search for their careers, which can often be so important in an increasingly competitive job market.

“The fair has already attracted plenty of interest from a range of businesses in the South Wales area and we are pleased to already confirm that both the Cardiff City FC Foundation and NHS Wales will be present. We remain committed to providing valuable employment opportunities to our residents, and I am pleased to see our latest intake of 33 apprentices and 12 graduates starting their two year placements with us.”

A number of workshops will be running throughout the day, including top tips for successful job applications and key interview preparation techniques.

It is free to attend, and will run from 10am until 7pm on September 27.
