Commuter films train experience

WE enjoy ranting about the train service, from moaning to our colleagues or even filing a complaint.

But one regular commuter decided to film a hilarious review during one eventful Arriva Trains Wales service.

Normally seen turning his critical eye towards technology, Stuart Thomas of Stu’s Reviews filmed the skit on Tuesday.

Youtube creator and tech blogger Stu, 30, from Mountain Ash, said: “I take the train every day and it really affects me when services are delayed.

“The franchise could change next year and if something needs to be said it needs to be said now. I expect that a lot of people when they see it will share the anger about the services. I hope they will find it funny and relate to it.”

At one point he gestures to the overhead luggage space as “luxury seats” and said that passengers unable to get on the train had a “free day” off.

During the filming on the Aberdare service another passenger fainted.

Stu said: “I couldn’t believe it happened while we were filming. It’s not the first time it’s happened, so could I turn around and say I’m surprised? No. I was more surprised we managed to catch it on film.”

Stuart filmed his video when the network was facing major delays due to engineering works on a line in Cardiff. Network Rail carried out the work in the Lisvane area, but it overrun on Tuesday after they experienced issues with a piece of on track machinery. Services were back to normal at around 12.30pm.
