Women’s Rugby: moun­tain Ash rFC sees the re­turn of women’s rugby fol­low­ing a gap of 16 years.

The age group is be­tween the ages of 12 and 18 and they train on The rec from 6pm ev­ery Wed­nes­day. Ladies’ Group: The Cynon Val­ley Ladies group meet once a fort­night in the Darren Las Com­mu­nity Cen­tre in moun­tain Ash, on Cardiff road, at 6.30pm.

Lee Gar­dens: For the next few months the Coop’s Lo­cal Com­mu­nity Fund will be rais­ing money for the Lee gar­dens Pool.

This is the fund that the Coop uses to give money back to groups their cus­tomers care about.

SING­ING GROUP: Any­one who is in­ter­ested in join­ing the rowan tree singers. We are a mixed choir that meets ev­ery Wed­nes­day from 7pm to 9pm at Providence Bap­tist Church, union street moun­tain Ash You do not have to be a cancer pa­tient or client to join. You do not have to have the abil­ity to read mu­sic. Any age wel­come please con­tact the Cen­tre for more in­for­ma­tion. Ev­ery­one is wel­come!

DO­NA­TIONS: if any­one has any un­wanted cloth­ing and/or toys we would re­ally ap­pre­ci­ate do­na­tions to our char­ity shops in moun­tain Ash and Pon­typridd. Do­na­tions of good qual­ity cloth­ing, Bridal wear, evening wear and oc­ca­sional wear, books, elec­tri­cal items or any other un­wanted items will also be grate­fully re­ceived at the rowan tree Char­ity shops. GIFT AID: gift Aid is one of the sim­plest and most ef­fec­tive ways of giv­ing to a Char­ity. gift Aid is a scheme in­tro­duced by the in­land rev­enue which al­lows us to claim 25p for ev­ery £1 that you do­nate – as long as you get at least that amount in tax and give the Char­ity per­mis­sion to claim. it is a fan­tas­tic scheme that makes do­na­tions go even fur­ther at no ex­tra cost. For ex­am­ple if you do­nate £10.00 then we can claim £2.50, mak­ing your do­na­tion worth £12.50. The guide­lines re­quires a gift Aid Dec­la­ra­tion Form to be com­pleted; this then gives us the data we need to be able to claim gift Aid as a do­na­tion.

VOL­UN­TEERS: We are look­ing for peo­ple to help us in re­cep­tion, shop work and driv­ing our clients back and forth from their Cancer re­lated Hospi­tal ap­point­ments. Driv­ers are ur­gently needed in the rhondda area. if you are able to help please con­tact the cen­tre on 01443 479369 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion.

We are also look­ing for vol­un­teers in the role of be­frien­ders vis­it­ing clients at their home one hour per week. This may be a life­line for many clients as you may be the only per­son they see all week. This is a new pro­ject for rowan tree Cancer Care.
