Arts centre plays host to first vegan food event
A VEGAN event believed to be the first of its type in the South Wales Valleys is coming to Pontypridd next month.
No Animals Were Harmed will hit the Muni Arts Centre on March 3, and will bring with it scores of stalls from around the region serving vegan food from stonebaked pizzas to cupcakes.
Paul Stone, co-organiser of the event, explained: “This is a one-off chance to sample some of the best vegan food from Pontypridd and beyond.
“Entry is free. Vegans, vegetarians, the lactose intolerant and anyone else who is just curious – including meat eaters – are welcome.”
It comes after it was predicted by takeaway giant Just Eat that going vegan would be the biggest food trend of 2018.
The year 2017 saw a 987% increase in demand for vegetarian options according to a survey conducted by the service.
Mr Stone added: “For anyone interested in compassion for animals, justice for people, protecting the planet, the global water crisis or their own health, veganism is the logical dietary choice.”
The event is being held in conjunction with the group Eat Out Vegan Wales, whose website has been described as the “de- finitive ve- gan guide to Wales” since 2006.
The full list of stalls attending include:
Those Vegan Pizza Guys: fresh handstretched stone baked pizzas
