22 councils is ludicrous
THE opposition to local authority reduction indicates very clearly that council leaders and members want to be big fish in little pools while council tax payers are groaning under the weight of the tax burden which is continuing to increase and will increase ad infinitum.
The illogical ludicrous expense of duplicating by 22 CEOs, education, highways, social services department etc is the local authority version of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
The Assembly must take this insult to the intelligence and pockets of Welsh taxpayers and kick it into touch.
A commercial company operating in this fashion would soon be out of business, it could not keep increasing prices as the current local authority structure is doing. Dennis Jones Newbridge, Caerphilly
