PON­TY­POOL made it six wins out of six in the WRU Na­tional Cham­pi­onship with a crush­ing eight-try 55-8 de­feat of pre­vi­ously-un­beaten Nar­berth.

Lloyd Lewis’ hat-trick led the way with Rob Nash at the dou­ble while Jor­dan Thomas, Geraint Walsh and Clay­ton Gullis also crashed over the white­wash.

Matthew Jones kicked five con­ver­sions and a penalty with Kieron Meek adding the other con­ver­sion.

Richard Rees got the Nar­berth try while Ianto Grif­fiths kicked a penalty but it was scant con­so­la­tion as they slipped to a first de­feat of the cam­paign.

The win for Pooler saw them go six clear of third-placed Nar­berth while re­main one clear of Cardiff Met­ro­pol­i­tan Uni­ver­sity – who also made it six from six with a five-star 36-5 win over Bed­dau.

Luke North­more crossed twice with Will Mor­ris, Alex Dove and El­lis Be­van the other Met try scor­ers.

Harry John­son kicked three con­ver­sions and a penalty while Rus­sell Ben­nett also added a con­ver­sion.

Else­where, Ystrad Rhondda, who are fourth, were 48-28 win­ners over Tata Steel – their fourth vic­tory of the cam­paign.

Cur­tis Wil­liams and Jared Llewellyn both helped them­selves to try braces, while Jay Har­ris and Sion Sum­mers were also on the score­sheet.

Rhys Tru­elove con­verted all six tries as well as boot­ing two penal­ties.

Dai Griggs scored a hat-trick for Tata, while Amir Jiwa-Walgi also scored as they bagged a try bonus point.

Tay­lor Phillips con­verted all four of the tries.

Trebanos were 31-17 home win­ners against bot­tom of the ta­ble New­bridge.

Matthew Ed­wards’ hat-trick in­spired the win for Trebanos who also had Tom Davies and St­eff Lewis among their try scor­ers. Ed­wards added three con­ver­sions.

An­thony Sy­mons and Chris­tian Fran­cis scored twice for New­bridge, with both tries con­verted by Sam Withers who also added a penalty.

Mean­while, two tries for Llyr Jones helped New­cas­tle Em­lyn to a 23-17 home win over Bedlinog.

Lewys Jonathan got their other try while Shaun Leonard kicked a con­ver­sion and two penal­ties.

And tries from Kyle Perry, Liam Wil­liams, Chris Tot­tle and Sam Stud­ley helped Rhy­dyfe­lin to a 2712 win at Maesteg Quins.

Gavin Close kicked two con­ver­sions and a penalty.

One East Cen­tral lead­ers Glam­or­gan Wan­der­ers crashed to their first de­feat of the sea­son as they went down 26-15 at home by Tre­orchy. Cur­tis Hughes and Ja­cob Lloyd got the two Tre­orchy tries with Jor­dan Lloyd adding 16 points from the tee.

That de­feat for the Wan­der­ers al­lowed Rhi­w­bina to close to within a point at the top af­ter they won 2520 at Llantrisant.

Ol­lie Golden, Mike Cur­tis and a penalty try were on the score­sheet for the Squir­rels with Lewis Pearce send­ing over a con­ver­sion and two penal­ties.

In One West Cen­tral lead­ers Ken­fig Hill ran home five tries in a 38-12 home vic­tory over Maesteg Celtic.

Tom Briggs, Scott Waller, Jamie Wil­liams, Jonny Clat­wor­thy and Jay Tame were the try scor­ers.

Ken­fig Hill are a point clear of Bony­maen – who were 38-10 win­ners over Aber­avon Quins.

And, in One East, Brynmawr are five from five af­ter a 15-7 win over Pe­nallta.

Brynmawr are one point clear of Bre­con who con­tin­ued their 100 per cent win­ning start, beat­ing Dowlais 52-16.
