A super shares surge

-

SUPERGROUP shares jumped 145p to 1405p after the company behind the Superdry fashion label revealed it had thrived during the poor weather as rival high street clothing retailers felt the sales chill.

The FTSE 250 company posted a 15.4 per cent rise in like-for-like sales in the 15 weeks to April 23, while total annual revenue was up 21.1 per cent to £589.5million.

Chief executive Euan Sutherland said 24 new stores had opened across European markets. It has 662 stores and concessions around the world.

Peel Hunt analyst John Stevenson said: “Supergroup usually outperforms the high street in times of poor weather.”
