ALAN’S TIP OF THE DAY:

Deadhead dahlias regularly to keep the plants flowering into the autumn. If you pick them for cut flowers, take as many as you want, as this acts as early deadheading. Give them a dose of liquid tomato feed every fortnight to encourage new buds.
