George ready to welcome twins

-

GEORGE CLOONEY has finally broken his silence on imminent fatherhood, expressing his joy and eagerness for the patter of tiny feet as he awaits the arrival of twins with wife Amal in June.

“We’re really happy and really excited,” says the 55-year-old after the announcement this month that he and Amal, a human rights lawyer, were expecting.

“It’s going to be an adventure. We’ve sort of embraced it all with arms wide open.”

Meanwhile, the Monuments Men star adds that his close friends have been very supportive, though some have given him a hard time now he’s finally joining the family man ranks. “When I first told my friends, it got really quiet and they all just started making baby crying noises and then the whole table just busted up laughing.”

Close pal and father-of-four Matt Damon, 46, who was one of the first to be told 39-year-old Amal was pregnant, didn’t make things any easier by scaring George about how much effort twins will be.

Matt said: “He said to me, ‘Well, you have four.’ And I said, yeah, but not at once! I don’t know how anyone does twins. Those sleepless nights… and there’s two of them? There’s just no way.”

OSCAR nominated actress Naomie Harris believes she hasn’t experienced racial discrimination in her chosen profession.

“People often say, ‘Has it been harder because you are ethnic?’ It probably has but I don’t have any experience of that,” says Cambridge-educated Naomie, who was born in London to a Jamaican mother and Trinidadian father. The 40-year-old, who is the first black actress to play Miss Moneypenny in James Bond, tells Woman magazine: “The reality is that I left drama school [the Bristol Old Vic] with 23 people and I am one of only two who has been able to make a living out of my profession, so I’m really fortunate.”

Naomie is up for the best supporting actress Oscar this Sunday for her role in Moonlight.
