Daily Express - - NEWS - By Sarah Westcott

ANGELINA Jolie and her father Jon Voight appear to have put the past behind them and are speaking to each other again.

The pair fell out nearly 10 years ago after actor Voight, now 78, accused her of having “serious mental problems”.

But they met up in New York this week to celebrate the premiere of her new film First They Killed My Father, about the genocide in Cambodia during the 1970s.

Wearing a strapless and backless Christian Dior dress, Angelina, 42, allowed fans a rare glimpse of her striking tattoos, which are usually covered with make-up when she is filming. The intricate designs on her back include Buddhist prayers written in the Khmer script from Cambodia, where her adopted son Maddox, 16, was born.

The geographical coordinates on her left arm represent the places all six of her children first entered her life – plus the birthplace of her estranged husband Brad Pitt.

She and Voight, who looked to be in fine health and wore a classic dark suit with a bright blue shirt, were joined at the event by Maddox and her other children, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
