Fine old tradition

Daily Express - - NEWS -

AS ever there were complaints about the dress Amanda Holden wore on Britain’s Got Talent which was slashed to the navel but looked pretty much like every other dress she has worn.

I’d go so far as to say that complaints about Amanda Holden’s dress are something to look forward to every year, along with the first cuckoo and Christmas.

Some expressed concerns that children will be distressed by this vision. I don’t see why. There are far more frightening things on television such as Emily Thornberry or the giant furry monster in the workplace pensions ad.

Amanda’s neck to navel area always looks as calm, smooth and unmoving as her face. It is an area of peace and tranquillity, like an undulating sand dune. So firm you could write a shopping list on it. As long as there is no contractual requirement for her to turn round suddenly, I think we can all… chill.
