What about table manners?

Daily Express - - NEWS -

FUSSY eaters should be allowed to play with their food to make mealtimes more relaxed, says the latest NHS guidance. Excuse me while I seethe with fury. Yes, mealtimes can be a battle with children but letting them eat yogurt with their fingers is not the way forward. When do you call a halt to them hanging onion rings on their ears? When they’re 18?

Meanwhile what happened to table manners, how to use a knife and fork, passing food to others, not putting your elbows on the table, eating with your mouth closed, etc? Meals are not just about getting food down your gullet, they’re about social interaction and not eating in such a way as to disgust others.

So, rather than allowing children to play with their food, I very much believe we should tell them, nicely, not to.
