Boris’s dad won’t grum­ble in the jun­gle

I’M A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! re­cruit Stan­ley John­son headed into the jun­gle yes­ter­day – and re­vealed he has never watched the show.

The fa­ther of For­eign Sec­re­tary Boris, Stan­ley is one of 10 celebri­ties lin­ing up for the new se­ries of the smash hit ITV show, which re­turns on Sun­day.

But the for­mer MEP, and au­thor, 77, with odds of 8/1 to win, ad­mits he does not know what he has let him­self in for. He said: “It’s all to­tally new to me. I know ab­so­lutely noth­ing about it but I’ve been told about it and ob­vi­ously I am ready to give it a go. I am very much look­ing for­ward to it. I am not ex­pect­ing to win but I would like to do rea­son­ably well.”
