TERRORISM
AT the end of last year Home Secretary Amber Rudd announced an extra £50million for the police and other security and intelligence officials at the frontline in the fight against a range of terror threats.
It raised the annual budget to £757million next year after she convinced Philip Hammond of the need for more support.
Intelligence services are currently running more than 500 live operations and there were 400 arrests for terrorism-related offences in the year to last September.
