Look on the bright side
Vanessa Hurley-Perera, chief product officer at Sofa.com, says customers have been more experimental with fabrics in recent years, opting for bright velvets and soft wools.
She adds: “We are also seeing customers having a bit of fun with mixing and matching colours and patterns on a single item, either as single panels or through contrast details such as buttons and piping.”
To help customers visualise how colour can work in the home, DFS has an online Colour Hub and a clever tool that helps you choose a wall colour to match a sofa’s shade.
Similarly, the Dulux Visualizer App can change the colours in a photo of your room to see what works for you. So it’s goodbye beige, hello pink and green.
