We’re buying dream home with £1m win
A YOUNG couple are planning to tie the knot and buy their dream home after netting a £1million Lotto Millionaire Raffle prize.
Mick Tyler and his fiancee Sarah Harmer played it cool after they discovered their Lotto ticket was a £1million winner – jetting off the next day as planned for a week’s holiday in Portugal.
But the couple now plan to tie the knot next September bringing the ceremony forward by nine months.
Air-conditioning engineer Mick, 35, and 33-year-old legal team assistant Sarah have also reserved their dream five-bedroom new-build house close to where they live in Snodland, Kent with their Yorkshire terrier, Ralph.
Mick said: “This is all so utterly mad and yet so flipping brilliant.
“For months every evening we have been walking our dog Ralph past this development of beautiful homes joking that if we won the lottery, we’d move there.
“And now we have and now we will.”
They hope to move in next April.
Yet for one horrible moment at first they thought it was all a mistake.
They got an email from the National Lottery, but Mick could not log into his online account.
So they rang a hotline only to be told: “Oh no, you haven’t won.” Mick went on: “Then he said, ‘Oh, sorry. It’s my mistake. I was looking at the wrong date. Yes, I can confirm you’ve won £1million.’
“Then we just and shouting.
“I don’t know what the neighbours thought was going on. ‘Oh my God, Mick. You’ve won a million’ from Sarah are words I won’t forget in a while.”
Their lucky raffle numbers were selected at random, although the winning colour navy was chosen by Sarah as their wedding colour.
Mick and Sarah both plan to carry on with their jobs. started
